The QSFP-10040-ER4 is a long range single-mode 100G QSFP28 optical module compatible with the 100GBase-ER4 specifications.
It uses 4 LAN-WDM 25G lasers running 1290~1310nm and combining them through a built-in mux/demux: the wavelengths used are 1295.56, 1300.05, 1304.58 and 1309.14nm following the IEEE 802.3ba grid. Each wavelength has 25Gbps for a total speed of 100G available on the QSFP28 interface. Unit can reach up to 40Km distances on G.652 types of SMF and has duplex LC optical connectors.
The QSFP-10040-ER4 is a full 40Km transceiver (not the Lite version), using EA-DFB lasers and APN photo diodes for a full 40Km reach optical budget. It is designed for 100G Ethernet service, being MSA compliant and fully compatible with 100G-Base-ER4, OTU4 standards and IEEE 802.3ba.
The transceiver has been tested and found compatible on 100G QSFP28 ready Ethernet switches from Arista, Cisco, Juniper, and Edge-Core. Transceiver operates into any 3rd party vendor equipment that follows the MSA open slot standard.
